Join Us in Supporting our Beloved Meghan and her Family
Meghan is a vibrant mother, dedicated teacher, and lifelong outdoor enthusiast who has inspired countless people through her love of skiing, trail running, and community. At just 38 years old, Meghan was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) - a progressive disease that weakens muscles and steals movement.
While ALS may change her physical abilities, Meghan's spirit, courage, and determination remain unshakeable. This event is our way of honoring her strength and surrounding her with support.
"Even a small community
can make a
big difference"

Hope for Meg
At just 38 years old, Meghan Kahn’s life changed forever. A lifelong athlete, dedicated teacher, and loving mom of two, Meghan was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) - a devastating disease that slowly takes away a person’s ability to walk, speak, move, and eventually breathe.
A Life Rooted in Park City
Meghan is a proud Park City native, born here in 1985 and raised in a family of educators.
-
Her father, Bill Kahn, taught at Park City High School for 25 years.
-
Her mother, Becky Brady, taught at Parley’s Park and Trailside Elementary for 25 years.
-
Her brother, Ben Kahn, is in his 20th year of teaching at Trailside Elementary.
-
Her sister, Kat Kahn, chose a career outside of education and resides in Salt Lake City.
Meghan grew up running, skiing, and hiking in these mountains. After graduating from Park City High, she moved to Oregon for college in 2003, where she built her life with her husband, Jonathan, and their children, Ari (11) and Sloan (8).
Facing ALS with Courage
Meghan was diagnosed with ALS in August 2023 after months of unexplained symptoms and medical testing. Since then, she has met this challenge with extraordinary courage and honesty. She has spoken at events like the ALS Northwest Light the Way Gala, bravely sharing what it feels like to lose pieces of her independence, while reminding us to hold on to hope, fight for progress, and never stop believing in breakthroughs.
Right now, Meghan’s daily life is changing rapidly. Her strength and breathing capacity are declining, and she and her family are navigating costly medical care, adaptive equipment, and home modifications. The financial burden of ALS is immense, but the love and support of friends, family, and community can make a real difference.
